These sorority members are located throughout Germany either assigned to the military, working for the government, or working for American companies abroad. Wuerzburg, Heidelberg, Kaiserslautern and Frankfurt are the four major areas where sorors are located. They culminate to one location for monthly meetings and continue their work for DELTA.

The members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. represent a unique segment of the nation's demographic profile. Delta women are movers and shakers--they hold political offices, own businesses and are influential in a range of fields from medicine to law to education. A recent survey of its members that resulted in the establishment of the Delta Sigma Theta Resource Bank, showed that 97 percent of all Deltas are registered to vote; they are well-educated,
earn competitive incomes and maintain positions of influence and respect within the larger community.

Alumnae Deltas comprise the largest proportion (76%) of the membership. The largest segments of alumnae Deltas are almost equally divided among three of the seven regions, Eastern (21.8%), Southern (21%), and South Atlantic (20.5%). Undergraduate Deltas comprise 24% of the membership and have the largest segments of their members in the Southern (23.6%) and South Atlantic (22.7%) regions. Seventy-two percent of alumnae Deltas are homeowners and the majority, 52 percent, are married.

A majority of the Delta members are employed in education as teachers, school administrators, counselors, professors, and higher education administrators. Other occupations frequently reported included management, social sciences, social work, medicine/health, law, engineering, architecture, the performing arts, information sciences, public administration (federal, state, and local levels), the judiciary, journalism, and religion.

Thank you for your interest in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are an organization of over 200,000
college-educated women who are committed to public service, with a focus on sustaining the growth and development
of the African American community.

Due to the high volume of inquiries of interest in Delta Sigma Theta, this list of FAQs is provided to address some of them.

Q #1: How do you become a member of Delta Sigma Theta?

A: All chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated host a meeting, commonly known as the RUSH, where
you receive information about the sorority and how to become a member. The RUSH activity is hosted at the discretion of
the local chapter. All persons interested in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta must attend the official RUSH activity.

Q #2: Do students who are pursuing an associate degree at a technical college or a
four-year college/university qualify for membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

A: For membership on the undergraduate level in the Sorority, one must be
matriculated at a college or university, approved by the Scholarship and Standards
Committee, pursuing work leading to an initial baccalaureate degree.

Q #3: I am a student in college. Are there any major requirements for membership that I should be aware of prior to
attending RUSH?

A: Undergraduate:

To become a member of a collegiate chapter you must currently be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or
university where there is an active chapter on campus or in the city. To find out the status of a chapter contact the Greek
Affairs or Student Activities Office of your school. To apply for membership you must already have a cumulative minimum
grade point average requirement of 2.50 on a 4.0 grading scale or a 1.50 on a 3.0 grading scale.

Q #4: I graduated from college a number of years ago; can I still become a member?

A. To become a member of an alumnae chapter, you must have received a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
college/university with a cumulative minimumGPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 grading scale or a 1.50 on a 3.0 grading scale. You
may apply for membership at a chapter within the community where you reside.

Q #5: If I meet all requirements specified at RUSH do I automatically receive an invitation for membership intake?

A: No. Our goal is to select women who not only meet the basic requirements, but also exceed them. Deltas
continue the tradition of excellence in all aspects. Therefore, Delta Sigma Theta invites all women to apply who exhibit
excellent personal and professional character with high moral code, who have a commitment to giving back in service
to the community.

Q #6: Is there an age limit to join?

A: Delta Sigma Theta does not have an age limit for application in either the collegiate or alumnae chapters.

Q #7: If I am not African American, can I still join?

A: Yes. Delta Sigma Theta is an equal opportunity organization. We are interested in women, who understand the
founding principles of the organization and are willing to uphold and support the ideology and values of Delta Sigma Theta.

Q #8: What if I belong to another Greek-letter organization, am I still eligible for membership?

A: No, if you are a member of another organization holding membership in the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc.
or the Panhellenic Conference, Inc.

A: This website is filled with a lot of helpful information pertaining to our programs, projects, initiatives and our history.

Q #10:What if there is no chapter on my campus?

A: New chapters can be established with the written approval of the college or
university. Contact the National Headquarters office for further information.
